Town House
Project
Refurbishment of a Georgian town house in London
Architect
Johnston & Mather, London
The complete refurbishment of a Georgian town house linking the main house with the old coach house. This involved demolishing all but the facade of the coach house and dropping the floor levels to match the main building.
Joinery works internally included oak flooring throughout, built-in cupboards and replacement sash windows, French doors and shutters.
Discreet modern additions were also made, such as a mansard roof to the coach house, a sun pipe for more natural internal light and a huge 2.8m diameter roof light that opens hydraulically.
