Junior Contracts Manager

This is mainly an office based role and you will be expected to undertake a wide variety of tasks including control of minor and general works projects from a contractual and administrative perspective, take responsibility for cost control, assist in managing site teams including direct labour, sub-contractors, suppliers and liaison with clients and their professional teams plus a number of varied tasks associated with construction management.

The ideal candidate is to be educated to a “A” Level standard or have relevant site experience.  You will be trained over a 3 year period within the organisation with the possibility of attendance at college to obtain professional status.

The candidate will have an outgoing personality, be practically minded with an abundance of common sense, strong attention to detail especially when dealing with numerical data, good communication skills both verbally and written.  Working within a team of 5 people, the candidate would report directly to the Director.

Junior Estimator/Surveyor

The role of Assistant Estimator/Surveyor is to assist the Commercial Department in all activities relating to tendering from bills of quantities, specifications and drawings.  The surveying side of this position will involve assisting in the preparation and negotiation of monthly valuations and the control of subcontractor payments, together with the pricing of variations and agreement of final accounts.  You will be required to assist putting together winning tenders for a variety of contracts up to approximately £10M in value.

The candidate would ideally have a degree that is construction related either in surveying or construction management and have 18 months site/construction experience.  Prior knowledge of building techniques, materials, processes and terminology is essential to this position.

The candidate will have an outgoing personality, strong attention to detail especially when dealing with numerical data, good communication skills both verbally and written.

There are no current vacancies, however, we are always interested to hear from experienced craftsmen who have:

  • an apprenticeship in a relevant trade including NVQ Level 3
  • experience in period restoration and/or refurbishment of listed buildings
  • the ability to work to exacting standards of quality
  • a proven track record of reliability
  • the commitment and ability to work as part of a team.
